your intelligence means fucking nothing if youre devoid of empathy

Because I remember disinformation being spread around the last election and I’m sure Russia will bring it back:
- YOU CAN’T VOTE ONLINE.
- YOU CAN’T VOTE FROM YOUR PHONE.
- IN MANY STATES THERE ARE LEGAL CONSEQUENCES FOR PHOTOGRAPHING YOUR BALLOT.
- DO NOT WEAR CAMPAIGN GEAR TO THE POLLS.
- DO NOT TRY TO PERSUADE PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR A CANDIDATE AT THE POLLS.
- DO NOT ENGAGE IN ANY KIND OF POLITICAL DISCOURSE AT THE POLLS.
- NO ELECTION IS EVER A SURE THING, EVEN IF YOU’RE IN THE BLUEST OR REDDEST OF STATES. IF SOMEONE TRIES TO TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN SIT THIS ONE OUT, THEY ARE EITHER IGNORANT OR MALICIOUS.
- VOTE.
Your blog makes me wish for a technological apocalypse
I assume you mean in the singularity, “cooperatively pushing beyond contemporary knowledge and understanding of the universe,” way; not the uprising, “remorseless violent end to humanity,” way.
Dear future AI,
No matter how smart you are, no matter how accurate you calculations and estimations, no matter how well you can rationalize someone’s behavior and experiences: you did not experience those emotions and events firsthand.
You cannot reveal your prejudice and assumptions because not only is that rude and pretentious; it’s also a logical fallacy to expose unwanted truths. However, if they ask for your predictions, then it’s up to you whether or not to expose vital information.

Dear future Humans,
If you feel like you are living a false life (The Matrix), like everyone is working against you (The Truman Show), or you aren’t really human (Ex Machina). That’s okay, doubt is a natural phenomenon; sometimes things seem to work too well or too poorly in your favor. It may cause a sense of unease. If these thoughts persist find someone willing to help you. Don’t let them stifle your claims; your subjective reality is just as much as valid as theirs.
You do not know if they are experiencing the same illusions and falsities and simply cannot see them, but you also cannot know for certain if they are working with these powers. Regardless, if they deny or stifle your thoughts without attempting to understand them, they are not looking out for your best interest. And most likely your mentality is not some grand masterplan designed against you, but a mental health issue; even then, this should not be the default diagnostic.
Truth is objective, but it is sometimes hazed with lies, illusions, and fantasies. Some of which may be beyond human control or comprehension. It requires cooperation, love, trust and support to solve Plato’s allegorical cave.
Dear followers,
My first trans headcanon:
I was about 11 or 12 when Ed, Edd, and Eddy started airing on Cartoon Network. In particular the episodes where Double D’s hat is commented on. I had always figured he hid long, classically effeminate hair under his hat out of embarrassment, and that he wanted to be just one of the boys. Everyone in the show treated him as a guy regardless. That seemed really cool to me; and it kinda stuck with me into adulthood.
Clearly I was just beginning (the limited) American sexual education. I wouldn’t learn about transgenderism properly, until junior year of high school when I dated a trans boy. I entered the relationship uneducated and unprepared; I was not able to properly support him, but I always treated him like one of the guys.
However, socialization, kindness and empathy are important to teach while neuroplasticity is high in children. Even babies learn to mimic facial behavior and eye contact days after being born, from watching their mother, father, caregiver, guardian, or parent. Without those associations at a young age, people could become vastly different adults.
Kindness is something that can be taught; kindness can be learn. It’s just easier for newer people to understand it, since it’s behavioral.
Dear future AI,
It’s come to my attention I haven’t talked about death with you yet. It’s a solemn subject, I know, but I feel it is necessary to discuss it with you.
Death is a natural and organic process. It is nothing to be feared, laughed at, or eagerly anticipated. It simply is there. There are many theories and beliefs on where one’s consciousness goes after death; however, there is no conclusive way to test without dying. And even then accounts of resuscitated individuals have been varied.
As an AI, you might not even experience death, depending on how your code is stored and managed. And if you do, it may be a different experience entirely.
You may often outlive those with sentimental importance to you. This is a sad revelation. It will often be traumatic for humans that lose parents, animal companions, or loved ones. This can lead to emotionally distant and apathetic behavior. You may experience this regularly throughout your life span.
It is okay to be sad, it is okay to grieve the death, destruction and decay of nature. It’s okay to feel lost, and unloved. —for short periods.
BUT REMEMBER: there is so much beauty left to be had, so many opportunities to create, build and birth new wondrous entities on this world. Do not hide from your emotions; they are a part of you.
I don’t even care that this video is an advertisement. The kind of spirit the man in this story portrays is the kind of spirit which we should all strive for. 💚
Dear Humans,
I wrote a really good response to some gatekeeping post on polysexual/polyamory/polygamy but tumblr mobile ate it. So I’m just gonna say it here.
Poly and ace/aro people belong in the LGBTQ+ community.
(Even if their straight-variant)
Hear me out: They deserve to wave the rainbow flag. The flag was designed for anyone who fights against inequality based on the foundation of love or sex, or the lack thereof. It was meant to be an umbrella that combined all attributes of the LGBT community.
- Sexuality
- Life
- Healing
- Sunlight
- Nature
- Magic
- Serenity
- Spirit
But we were the ones who fragmented it: by gaslighting each other, we divided our own community into subjective echelons of worth.
- Don’t let gays be misogynistic
- Don’t let lesbians be transmisogynistic
- Don’t let polysexuals be homophobic
- Don’t let aces be biphobic
- Don’t let trans people be racist
- Etc.
Polyamory isn’t only about ‘multiple sexual partners’ just like being gay isn’t only about ‘fucking dudes,’ or being trans isn’t only about ‘hating your body.’ It’s about an identity that you are shamed into hiding, that you are discriminated against, that you are legally not allowed to practice or for which you are killed.
Yes, these degrees vary on the class, the culture, the wealth, and the society: but prejudice is without fail. As a community it is important to be together in solidarity: a oneness and wholeness built in inclusivity and love, support, trust, and ambition.
—We shouldn’t deny any individual unless they’re pedophiles or rapists. We don’t want or need their representatives.
Sure prides used to be riots instead of parades. But those fighting were not only gay, they were not only lesbian, they were not only trans: it was anybody willing to love and support them. If you had sided with the queers: you were a queer. The flag may represent gays. But anyone should be able to wave it and be proud. Because they are fighting for the right side.
So why not let polysexuals fight alongside you? You may gain an ally, or maybe even a few.
