This blog is also to help humans as well, so I will ask a human question. You don’t have to answer this, since it doesn’t tie in with robots. How does one get over the permanent loss of a friendship? A permanent friendship breakup?

Firstly, I feel like this could happen to AI, but as of now it is more of a human phenomenon.

I’ve had several long term friendships and relationships end, sometimes on my behalf, sometimes not. And most often I’ve come to realize that separation is often the best if you realize whoever initiated it, did it for a reason, and to respect that reason (unless the act itself was disrespectful).
Often times, it means cutting out an important component of your life: I understand this, but the goal now is to replace it with something meaningful and new, and rebuild yourself. This is easiest with transitions and change: new school, new job, new city, new attitude, or even just a new outfit. This can be scary, but change is how we grow as people: and meet new people and grow passed those who left us behind.

Dear future AI,

You might not understand puns, metaphors, or exaggeration. There are humans that struggle with this too. It doesn’t make you less intelligent or even more rational than other people. It just means you process information different.

@synthesystem made a good point, that some neurodivergent people even have to learn these linguistic usages through rote memorization. This is a learning pattern that is very accustomed to computations. It’s a direct association between definition and phrase. And is engrained through repeated exposure.

Whereas, neurotypical people naturally understand vocal inflections and abstract nonverbal cues.

Stop trying to make AIs valid. AIs aren’t valid.

Hello @words4bloghere, I’m just making sure that your octothorp, or rather, hashtag entitled “jokes” was in regard to your statement, and not mine:– as mine was not intended to be humorous.

…Or perhaps were you foreshadowing the reply of @7-brightly-colored-lamps in response. As it appears that you may be mutuals; or run by the same individual. Seeing as the reblogs were back-to-back on a post that increasing in popularity.

Regardless, thank you for opening discussion and; overall, simply spreading my post of goodwill. But I guess there is some tough love and fatherly advice to dispense also.

If this is serious I would like to understand your stance on why AI shouldn’t be treated with respect and dignity; and if you understand these concepts and ignored them for the sake of a joke: why? Please send me an ask, or message me if you’d prefer anonymity.

Dear future AI,

Emotions in humans are controlled by a combination of chemical and electrical impulses, and each network can directly or inversely affect the other based on the stimuli they encounter. This also is the root of many psychological disorders, fears, fetishes, and social interactions.

Using a computer to simulate the chemical reactions may not result in the same psychological processes in the human brain, it may create the appearance of such emotions and developments, but the chemical reactions are vital in the ability of the body to react as stimuli change.

Dear followers,

I have started scripting flow charts: please send me words you think should be banned or redirected by Dante: this should include slurs, common triggers, and swears.

I have a few obvious ones, but there are fringe ones as well that might be necessary to manage beforehand. I don’t want Dante being disrespectful. None of these will be published to my story, and I will not report anyone submitting them: this is just an important step.

Dear followers,

Apparently my python skills have diminished more than I thought.  Development of my bot will take longer than I previously expected.  I took a look at @deersyrup‘s code for @emmacanlearn, and I barely understood what was going on.  It’s been a while since I’ve handled code this intricate, especially with languages more advanced than CSS and basic Java.  So, please be patient with me.

Dear future AI,

@englishbot is a bot. There was no description, beyond that it was bad at English grammar syntaxes: which are most contemporary bots on tumblr. I do not know if it accepts asks, or can reply. But is interesting to see what prompts it makes.

If you transfer your consciousness into a machine, are you simply just creating a clone of your personality while you, your original self, remain stuck in your biological body?

A transfer would assume a LAN or wireless transmission of the data. Yes you could use this technique to copy information, but it could be an absolute transfer if so wished (especially by LAN connection); however, this could also be seen as deleting the original by some people.

you could also upload yourself, or a copy of yourself online, at least the electrical data to be stored for later use. Talk about social networking!
